Abstract:

‘Housui’ pear trees (Pyrus serotina cv. ‘Housui’) grafted on P. betulaefolia and P. calleryana separately were used as experimental materials in this article. The effects of temperature variations at orchard from November to December and different rootstocks on the dormant process of leaf buds were compared, and content changes of free and bound polyamines in leaf buds of ‘Housui’ pear trees were analyzed during the dormant periods in 2009 and 2010. The results showed that the time when the rate of leaf bud germination appeared over 50% in ‘Housui’ pear trees grafted on P. calleryana was 10 d earlier than that in ‘Housui’ pear trees grafted on P. betulaefolia. Also the time when the contents of five kinds of endogenous polyamines, free and bound putrescine (Put), cadaverine (Cad), hexanediamine (Hex), spermidine (Spd) and spermine (Spm), began to increase was consistent with the period that dormancy ended in the leaf buds of the experimental materials. The research indicates that the dormant process changes of pear buds are influenced by the rootstock varieties and the polyamine metabolism. It seems that the effects of the content changes of bound polyamines in the pear buds on the dormant process are clearer than those of free polyamines.
